On my first outing to East Hampton to visit the Seinfelds at their country spread, a team of turf guys was rolling out miles of lawn in front of their new beachfront house. At that time-June 2004-Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld occupied another house on the grounds, a modest but entirely agreeable three-bedroom, which both described, with a slightly wistful air, as "a perfect family home."
