Should you have spent the last ten years plotting and planning your very first store, you too would be excused for becoming a mite obsessive. Such is the case with Tomas Maier, who wouldn't dive into retail's deep end until he was sure everything would be absolutely perfect. The German designer's debut boutique, opening this month in his adopted hometown of Miami Beach, will operate out of a renovated 1932 Addison Mizner-style apartment complex. In addition to the swim collections for which he is famous, Maier has thrown a few special things into the boutique's mix of fashion and home and everything else ...
