Nov. 3--Cherokee County will collect less in impact fees from builders in coming months.
The county Board of Commissioners voted last week to cut by 50 percent the portion of the fees that is collected to pay for roads. The fees are based on the amount of traffic a development is expected to generate.
The county also charges impact fees to pay for new fire and police services and facilities, libraries, parks and engineering. Those fees were left in place.
