ORLANDO, Fla. _ Only eight days remain until high-school football season begins. Florida will kick off fall practice on Aug. 9.
But 26 Floridians already have given oral, non-binding commitments to colleges. They have until Feb. 2 to change their minds.
The Florida numbers pale in comparison to the rest of the country, where more than 340 already have pledged to their favorite teams.
