ANAHEIM, Calif. _ Two days after they came back from a five-run deficit and lost, the Angels took the necessary steps to finish on top Saturday.
Jose Guillen hit a two-run homer off Eddie Guardado in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Angels a 9-8 victory over the Seattle Mariners in front of 43,576 at Angel Stadium.
"If the game goes the other way and we lose ... it's not a normal loss when we lose a game like that," said Angels pitcher Brendan Donnelly, who gave up a run in the top of the 11th but picked up the victory. "But when you win it's more than just a normal win."
