Time marches on. This is August. August means Ryan Ludwick and Aaron Boone. Granted, Boone can't come off the 60-day disabled list until late August, but it's still August.
Presumably the Indians are counting on both players to join the team before Sept. 1, so they can be eligible for the playoffs, just in case.
Ludwick already is on a rehab assignment at Buffalo, where he has had more than 50 at-bats. So unless his surgically repaired knees keep him from competing at the big-league level, he probably will be activated in two weeks, max.
