CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ Stacey King is one keeper bass away from achieving a lifelong dream _ winning the Bassmaster Classic.
King, a veteran pro fisherman from Reeds Spring, Mo., has qualified for 11 of these world championship tournaments_a feat that has put him at the top of his sport. But he's never been this close to winning the Classic title and the fame that goes along with it.
Going into Sunday's final round in the three-day tournament at Lake Wylie, King trails leader Dean Rojas of Grand Saline, Texas, by less than 4 pounds_the equivalent of one big bass.
And in King's mind, that's not an insurmountable margin.
