ARLINGTON, Texas _ The Rangers' starting rotation continues to take injury hits.
R.A. Dickey, who gave up five earned runs to the Oakland A's in 3 2/3 innings Thursday, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right muscle in his upper back. The Rangers have six starters on the DL.
Dickey said he felt some pain during the fourth inning Thursday. The same injury kept him on the DL from June 25-July 19, although he said he does not feel as much pain now as before. He tried to pitch through the injury that time, and did not want to do that again.
