Jul. 31--AUGUSTA, Maine -- The Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled Friday that it does have the authority to review disputed ballots in primary elections and then also resolved the outcome of three legislative contests that have been in limbo since June 8.
As a result, state Senate District 29 candidate Kevin L. Raye of Perry will be unopposed this fall in his Republican legislative campaign. The court concluded that Democratic challenger Kim Bagley of Machias failed to receive enough votes to qualify as a write-in candidate...
