JACKSONVILLE, Fla. _ First Puerto Rico, then the world. Well, you have to start somewhere.

That's here in Jacksonville on Saturday, where the U.S. Olympic basketball team will play its first exhibition game against Puerto Rico, which still can't decide whether it wants statehood. And not necessarily because it doesn't want to contribute basketball players to America's wackiest Olympic team.

This is a United States team led last week in two-a-day practices by Allen "Mr. Practice" Iverson. The co-captain, no less. Yup, we're talking about practice here! Practice! With a dozen of the NBA's top players calling in busy, sick or terrified, Iverson was named co-captain along with Tim Duncan. He is the senior member of the team.
