Key ingredients: Permethrin, a government-approved repellent.
The pitch: Will repel mosquitoes, biting flies, chiggers and other pests.
How it works: Derived from chrysanthemums, permethrin has been available as a spray-on repellent. Buzz Off devised a way to bind this repellent to fabric, which the U.S. Army has tested in field uniforms and tents.
