Key ingredients: Permethrin, a government-approved repellent.

The pitch: Will repel mosquitoes, biting flies, chiggers and other pests.

How it works: Derived from chrysanthemums, permethrin has been available as a spray-on repellent. Buzz Off devised a way to bind this repellent to fabric, which the U.S. Army has tested in field uniforms and tents. By dissuading critters Buzz Off clothes may protect the wearer not only from bites but also insect-borne diseases.
