Carts, Kiosks Attract Customers, Revenues to Winston-Salem, N.C.-Area Malls.

Nov. 19--When Don Geller of Kernersville shops at Hanes Mall, he spends more time at the mall's kiosks and carts than its stores because he says that they offer more personalized products.

"You're not finding the same old stuff," he said, as he browsed through rows of jewelry at the Silver Stream kiosk.

Arjeanne Tickle of Greensboro, another mall shopper, likes the carts and kiosks for similar reasons.

"I think they (offer) something you're not going to find in a regular store," she said.

Tickle said she especially looks forward to the seasonal merchandise.

"I think it puts you more in the mood for the holiday," she said.

Across the country, malls are welcoming a growing number of merchants who fill open spaces with carts and kiosks and move into empty mall stores under …
