Dec. 9--PORT ST. JOE, Fla.--Jim Garth and his family knew they had found their slice of heaven when they first visited this picturesque coastal town. There was one main problem.

The Garths owned and operated one of the most successful hardwood floor specialty businesses in the Southeast: Decorative Flooring.

There was another factor. The business was in Marietta, Ga., just north of Atlanta. It's not the easiest thing to do: move a whole company. That is especially true considering the high-tech laser tools they use in manufacturing inlays and medallions used in designer hardwood flooring.
