CHICAGO _ The Minnesota Twins hit first in their three-game series at Chicago this week, and after two games they're still waiting for the White Sox to hit back.
One night after center fielder Torii Hunter riled up the South Side by pulverizing Sox catcher Jamie Burke on a collision at the plate, the entire Chicago lineup appeared dumbstruck as the Twins beat the White Sox, 7-3, at sold-out U.S. Cellular Field to open a 2 {- game lead in the American League Central.
Left-hander Johan Santana followed the lead of ace Brad Radke on Monday by all but silencing the White Sox on one hit through six innings before tiring in the seventh.
