Jul. 29--MAINE HOME SALES RISE 4.19 PERCENT OVER YEAR AGO: June Realtors sold 4.19 percent more Maine homes this June than during the same month last year, according to statistics released Monday by the Maine Real Estate Information System.

A total of 1,318 homes were sold in June. The median sales price for those homes reached $159,950, a 14.25 percent rise over last June's median sales price of $140,000.

Nationally, sales rose 8.6 percent in June over the same month a year earlier, according to the National Association of Realtors. The median price of existing homes increased 7.7 percent nationally to $176,500 during the same period.
