Aug. 22--San Diego County's economy has held up relatively well since 2001 and should grow over the next year as the national economy continues its slow recovery, the head of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco said yesterday.
Yet, San Francisco Fed President Robert Parry added, the state's budget crisis as well as problems as skyrocketing workers' compensation insurance costs have the potential to create a drag on the local economy.
"The area's continued success depends in part on its attractiveness as a place to live and do business," Parry told the San Diego Rotary Club at the Westin Horton Plaza hotel.
