WASHINGTON _ President Bush has invited congressional leaders to the White House Wednesday to discuss Iraq, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld planned to give classified briefings to lawmakers during the afternoon.

While the White House insisted Bush has not decided what to do about Iraq, lawmakers returned to Washington from their August recess preoccupied with the subject and the administration's plans.

Bush has repeatedly called for the ouster of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. Rumsfeld suggested that in coming days, the president may release more evidence about Hussein's activities.
