Teijin has announced plans to globally market its innovative patent pending technology for the 100% recycling of used PET bottles.
As the currently most commonly used PET recycling method known as "Material Recycle" in which the bottles are first washed, ground up then melted down, is unable to distinguish between different plastics such as that used in the cap and other impurities, it has been difficult to obtain a high purity PET plastic suitable for reuse in bottles.
