Apr. 8--Trends have a way of fooling you. When you are in the middle of them, you think they will go on forever. But when you look back, they seem like a strange aberration.
Remember the psychedelic '60s and '70s? People let their hair grow to their waists (the men at least), wore bell-bottom pants and tie-dyed T-shirts, and did not trust anyone over 30.
It was the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
Then came [Ronald] Reagan and the 1980s, and the psychedelic years instantly became a distant memory.
The '80s were a throwback to the '50s of "Happy Days," and while over-the-hill hippies waited, the Age of Aquarius …
