May 3--PHILANTHROPIST HONORARY ECONOMIC COUNCIL MEMBER: Local philanthropist and businessman Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. became the fourth person Wednesday to be named an honorary member of Palm Beach County's Economic Council.

The others are former U.S. Reps. Harry Johnston and Tom Lewis, and businessman Thomas Pledger.

A founding member of the Economic Council, Dreyfoos owns The Dreyfoos Group, a private capital management firm that also owns and operates the Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach Shores. He owned WPEC-News 12, the local CBS affiliate, for 23 years before selling his controlling interest in 1996.
