May 21--ORLANDO, Fla.--Many men may not need prostate cancer screening tests every year, as recommended by major medical groups, according to a study that heightens the debate over whether the blood tests save lives.
Men with low prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels can safely get the tests every two or five years, say researchers who presented their findings Monday at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
