Sep. 16--JAZZIN' UP RIVER PROJECT TO TUNE OF $1 MILLION: Along with $7 million in general obligation bonds the city wants to use to build the Gander Mountain outdoor store at WaterWalk, it hopes to use another $1 million of the bonds for public art at the new development.

"It's been a strong principle coming from the Chris Cherches era that all projects that include significant city funding should also include a significant art component," says Allen Bell, the city's economic development director.
