Sep. 1--With Hurricane Frances' track keeping the Category 4 storm aimed at Florida's east coast, Chatham emergency managers stayed in wait-and-see mode Wednesday.
"We're watching it," said Dan Stowers, deputy director of the Chatham Emergency Management Agency. "We're going through the motions getting ready for the worst and hoping it stays on track."
By early Wednesday evening that track from the National Hurricane Center had Frances making landfall near Cape Canaveral, Fla., on Saturday afternoon and continuing toward southwest Georgia.
