After our delightful experience with Indian meals, the Lunch Ladies decided to continue our ethnic food exploration. We turned to savory Thai food, which is all about rot chart, or harmony of flavor. It layers sweet, hot, salty and sour elements to create rich, tasty and sometimes spicy dishes.

CASCADIAN FARM THAI STYLE CHICKEN BOWL

This is one of those organic brands _ even the chicken used is certified organic. The Thai bowl contains long grain rice, chicken and vegetables in a creamy peanut-coconut sauce.

Portion size: 8.5 oz

Looks/smell: Pleasant mild peanut and coconut aroma. Unattractive brownish mixture, but Thai food can be funny-looking to those used to hamburgers and french fries (not us, we promise).

Texture/taste: Flavorful and slightly spicy. The chicken, which we think might be dark meat, was an improvement over that of Cascadian Farm's Chicken Fettuccine.
