Naturally, I've not appeared in your midst today to reveal what it was really like in the beginning of time, but the feeling was definitely ethereal.

You see, I'd almost lost myself in the overall picture, until gradually realizing I was lying in bed in the pre-dawn darkness, my eyes open, and there was nothing to see, no dot or dash of light, and not a sound to hear. Nothing.
