ST. LOUIS
It has been 27 years since St. Louis last hosted a Final Four. With that much time to prepare, this weekend's event should be pretty good.
In fact, anyone who last visited here in 1978 when Kentucky defeated Duke probably wouldn't recognize the place.
Sure, the Gateway Arch still rises above the banks of the Mississippi River. Busch Stadium hasn't moved ... yet. And the Hill still dishes out some of the best Italian food this side of Naples.
But this is a new St. Louis, a vibrant, diverse community that for the next five days will be the center of the sporting world.
