Having moved into a new house, and with his wife in and out of surgery twice in two days, John Schutts hadn't slept for nearly 48 hours when he shook his 4-month-old son to stop his crying last month, his wife said Wednesday.
The infant died in the hospital as a result of the shaking. On Wednesday, Schutts told a judge he has agreed to plead guilty to a second-degree murder charge and serve 10 to 20 years in prison in exchange for having a first-degree murder charge against him dropped.
