Mar. 30--Restaurants and retail outlets in Lewisville's southern sector could see a sudden spike in sales this summer. That's when about 500 employees of EMC Mortgage Corp. are expected to descend on their new office at Lake Vista Drive and State Highway 121.
"It'll be a substantial impact," said Zane Miller, the city's economic development director. "You add 500 new daytime people and jobs to the economy. People have the potential to shop at the mall, Costco and other establishments in the area. That adds a tremendous amount of revenue over time to Lewisville." File graphic
