Mar. 30--SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Johnnie Cochran, who led the "Dream Team" of lawyers that saved O.J. Simpson's hide, and championed both celebrity clients and police abuse victims from coast to coast, died yesterday of an inoperable brain tumor.
Cochran, who was 67, had been quietly battling the disease since early 2004 and was with his wife, Dale Mason, and sisters at his home in the Loz Feliz section of Los Angeles when he died.
"He passed peacefully," said Pastor William Epps of the Second Baptist Church, to which Cochran belonged. "He was a warm-hearted, loving and spiritual person. We will all miss him very much."...
