Mar. 29--First there were credit cards, then bank cards and E-ZPass. Now, the Brooklyn Public Library has a smart card -- the first one to be used in any of the city's public library systems.
"It works just like a debit card," Brooklyn Public Library Executive Director Ginnie Cooper explained.
With new Access Brooklyn Cards, users can check out books and videos, pay overdue fines, reserve books or computer time, and pay for photocopies and computer printouts.
