Mar. 29--Marking the final chapter of the insurance scandal that helped bring down an administration, Nassau County yesterday received its last payment from defendants.
The five-year investigation into the $70 million Benefit Plan Administrators scandal resulted in 11 convictions. And yesterday's $3.25 million payment, from assets forfeited by five of those convicted, brought the total restitution to $22million.
