Mar. 25--Bill Kelly doesn't want to talk numbers. The co-founder of the Winter Music Conference said last week he expected as many as 4,000 to attend his 20th annual dance and electronic music gathering. By Wednesday afternoon, with most of the registration booths at the Wyndham Miami Beach Resort empty after attendees had already picked up their badges, Kelly was happy, but vague.

"A lot of people put the emphasis of success on numbers," the veteran South Florida DJ said. "I don't gauge it that way. I gauge it on the vibe, the level of business, and the meaning of the workshops and panels. For two days, the vibe has been tremendous."
