Q. I just bought organic brake pads and wore them out in one weekend. Can I find longer lasting brake pads without paying too much?

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

A. There are a lot of factors that contribute to brake wear such as riding style, the weight and power of your ATV and the type of terrain where you do your riding, particularly if it is muddy or sandy. Mud and sand can be very abrasive when stuck between your brakes and rotors causing both to wear more rapidly. Organic pads, because they are made of fibrous material including particles of metal, do not cut through the sand and mud. Your ATV, when bought new was fitted with longer lasting sintered brake pads. You should investigate purchasing DP Brake sintered pads.

Q. Won't sintered pads cost more than organic?

A. Initially yes, but in terms of brake pad life, no. Over the long run the money saved in buying DP Brake sintered brake pads will be considerable.
