The Formula USA Pro Quads Series has become the most watched ATV racing series with more than 40,000 spectators at each of the five rounds. In the past, ATV racing was just a sideshow for the Monster Trucks. That's not the case anymore, thanks to the efforts of show coordinator Jim White. The former Kawasaki three-wheeler ace is making sure quads are an integral part of the show.

Many of the top pro riders compete in the series due to an attractive $7,500 purse split among the top 10 finishers at each round. The $10,000 championship purse and a $14,500 Weekend Warrior Trailer going to the 2005 Formula USA Pro Quad overall champion isn't bad incentive, either.
Series Recap: Rounds 1-3
The series kicked off in Houston's Reliant Stadium. There, East Coast ATV's John Natalie dominated the competition on his Honda 450R. The rider took the holeshot in his heat race and in the main. He lead nearly the whole main, but swapped with Honda's Baldwin-prepped 450R ridden by Tim Farr. Natalie regained the lead and valuable points to start the series.
At Round No. 2 in Anaheim, Calif., hometown favorite Kory Ellis stole the show by putting his Factory Yamaha YFZ out front. Like Natalie the round before, Ellis piloted his quad to both a heat win and the main. Team Suzuki made its debut at Edison Field with Doug Gust and Jeremiah Jones aboard their Yoshimura-prepped LT-Z400s.
Farr had a bit of bad luck as he holeshot the main, only to have the start red flagged. On the restart, Ellis took the holeshot while Farr and Gust tangled. Both riders recovered as Ellis pulled away from the field. Gust, refusing to go down easy, worked his way up to second! Jeremy Schell took fourth in the main while Dustin Nelson earned third.
