Yamaha has found a way to appeal to the ATV masses much like the burger joints across America. Many people buy ATVs stock and enjoy them that way. Other consumers have other ideas of what makes a good quad. Much like the fast-food industry, Yamaha has allowed it customers to have it their way--sorry Burger King. With its full line of 2005 Special Edition models, Yamaha gives customers a chance to look different from everyone else. Throw in a complete line of Genuine Yamaha Technology-Racing accessories and buyers can build custom quads. It's a trend that's starting to take hold in the ATV industry and one Yamaha wants to capitalize on.

To introduce its SE models and to showcase all its GYT-R parts, Yamaha invited members of the ATV media to join it for two days of fun at Glamis. (See sidebar pg. 52)
SE RUNDOWN
Essentially, for a premium price ($200), Yamaha offers its most desirable sport quads with custom--and far less frequent--graphics and custom colors. Yamaha says its SE models have been successful and that demand is high. They might be on to something.
