Mar. 12--EDISON -- Retired auto-parts worker Peter Klem was a little richer yesterday thanks to the state.

When the 68-year-old South Amboy resident walked up to the state's unclaimed property booth at the Home Show last night he never expected he was going to be getting money from the government.

"'There's nothing for me' I thought. I was really surprised," said Klem.

He discovered, among other things, that he never cashed a dividend check for $1.80 a few years back. He didn't disclose what else he'd found.
