Mar. 1--An Ohio company has chosen a subsidiary of Norwalk-based EMCOR Group Inc. to design and build a $44 million food-processing plant in Horse Cave, Ky.
EMCOR subsidiary Shambaugh & Son LP will be the prime contractor for the 220,000-square-foot facility, designed to process dressings and sauces produced by T. Marzetti Co., a subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corp., in Columbus, Ohio.
Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Shambaugh will be in charge of the design and construction of the production facility, which will include innovations designed for Marzetti, a supplier of many of the country's major restaurants, food retailers and food distributors. The project is expected to take 19 months to complete.
Shambaugh will perform the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, plant automation, temperature controls, fire protection and general construction work.
