Feb. 28--North Hampstead is going for the green.
Town Supervisor John Kaiman announced Friday the purchase of seven hybrid SUVs for the town's fleet of vehicles. The acquisition is the latest in North Hempstead's ongoing effort to set a local standard for energy conservation.
