Feb. 26--In seeking the records of several offshore trusts controlled by Dallas executives Sam and Charles J. Wyly, a New York prosecutor is trying to lift the veil on a complex financial realm traversed only by the wealthiest Americans.
The chairman and vice chairman of Michaels Stores Inc. have weaved together a tapestry of far-flung trusts that, according to a spokeswoman, benefits their family members and some charities.
