Feb. 28--WASHINGTON -- Gov. Rick Perry joined a chorus of Texas officials Sunday urging the Bush administration to implement Medicaid reform before rising health care costs bankrupt states.
The nation's governors, in the capital this week for their annual conference, are expected to ask President Bush for more federal assistance and to reform Medicaid programs that provide health care coverage to the poor and to children.
The governors have placed Medicaid reform as their No. 1 priority because all states are experiencing funding problems.
