Feb. 28--Portland School Board member Julia Brim-Edwards, who pushed for more district accountability to taxpayers, has decided not to run for re-election.

Brim-Edwards, 43, said she has completed the agenda she set for herself when she ran for the board in 2001. She said her new job as deputy public affairs director for Nike did not influence her decision....
