Feb. 28--An important element in the creation of a transit loop and greenbelt around intown Atlanta hangs in the balance today when a MARTA board committee votes on whether to include the project among MARTA's top priorities.
The MARTA board's business development committee will take up the question of whether to add a proposed "inner-core" transit line to its construction goals. Currently, MARTA's official expansion list includes additions to its east, west and north lines, but only the east line has any chance of receiving the federal funds needed to pay for construction.
