Feb. 28--A delicate balance that meets the needs of farmers and manufacturers must be maintained to keep the north country's dairy industry viable, according to a study to be released this week.
The $138,000 study, conducted by CITEC Manufacturing and Technology Solutions, Potsdam, includes consultations with more than 100 individuals and organizational sources, including dairy farmers, dairy cooperatives, Cornell Cooperative Extension offices, economic development agencies and others.
