Feb. 28--WAYNESBORO -- The Silver Gallery ships upscale gift items from a business run near the unglamorous factories and farms of the Shenandoah Valley. Yet, apparently, Hollywood can't get enough of them.
Co-presidents Stacey Strawn Evans and Stephen Dahl last week presented luxury gifts from their mostly high-end, Internet-based retail operation to celebrities at a pre-Oscars party.
They worked Tinseltown earlier this month providing gifts to presenters at the Screen Actors' Guild Awards.
Clint Eastwood took home a sterling silver, turtle-footed bowl to go along with the live tortoise on his property. The cast of ABC's "Desperate Housewives" favored the curved mahogany jewelry boxes. Julie Andrews received a set of brass candlestick holders from Waynesboro's Virginia Metalcrafters.
Last week's gathering in Hollywood was the fifth such expensive, celebrity giveaway event the Silver Gallery has worked.
The entertainment industry's A-list events are extremely competitive...
