Feb. 28--The Urban Renewal Authority must look into allegations that the company managing the Pueblo Convention Center has been unfair to employees and chased away business, according to Mike Occhiato, a member of the authority board and City Council.
"I think Urban Renewal has got to do a performance audit to see if some of these allegations are true," Occhiato said. "And I think the Urban Renewal Authority has got to call Global Spectrum (the company that manages the center) on the carpet and find out what was going on."
But Rod Slyhoff of the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce disagreed. He said he hasn't seen the center lose business or mistreat employees and he praised Global Spectrum and the center's manager.
