FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ Enrique Wilson, a utility player with the New York Yankees for four years, didn't expect to be a spring training invitee, but he's happy to have a chance with Baltimore.
Wilson played in two World Series with Yankees and was in the playoffs four straight years. He was confident some major league team would sign him. He was wrong. Wilson, Chris Gomez and Chris Stynes, veteran major leaguers, will compete for one or two bench spots. Backup catcher Geronimo Gil, B.J. Surhoff and David Newhan are favorites for spots.
