LAWRENCE, Kan. _ As he left Allen Fieldhouse Sunday, Kansas coach Bill Self said he wasn't sure whether he'd make it home in time to watch the 2005 Academy Awards.
"To be honest," Self said, "I haven't seen too many movies this year anyway."
No matter. On Sunday Self witnessed a performance as superb as any given by Jamie Foxx, Hilary Swank or Leonardo DiCaprio. No one handed Kansas an Oscar after its 81-79 victory over Oklahoma State, but coaches from both teams lauded their players for an award-winning effort.
"I haven't been to that many games in the Fieldhouse over time," Self said. "But I can't imagine there being that many games much better than what we saw today."
Senior guard Michael Lee agreed.
"That might be the greatest game I've ever played in," he said. "What happened out there today is going to stick with me for a long, long time."
So, too, will the ring that Lee and his teammates...
