PHILADELPHIA _ The Temple women finished with a perfect record in the Atlantic Ten Conference and claimed the Big Five title Sunday with a 69-46 win against St. Joseph's at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
The 16th-ranked Owls (24-3, 16-0 A-10) established themselves as one of the city's best-ever women's basketball teams.
Coach Dawn Staley's squad became the fourth team in conference history to finish 16-0, joining Rutgers (1985-86), West Virginia (1991-92) and George Washington (1996-97).
