HOMOSASSA, Fla. _ The quest to find 9-year-old Jessica Marie "Jessie" Lunsford was hampered by rain showers and mud Sunday as the search for the Homosassa girl hit its fourth day.
A lead from a convenience-store videotape also fizzled.
Early in the investigation, thick fog had complicated a helicopter search. On Sunday, rains muddied the thick brush and woods in her quiet community.
"Weather has not been beneficial to my investigation at all," Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy said Saturday. He did not attend news conferences Sunday.
