MILWAUKEE _ With March Madness just around the corner, sports fans are beginning to focus on the upcoming NCAA men's basketball tournament.

On Monday, however, the NCAA hopes the focus will be on academic reform as the huge institution officially unveils a new system to measure the academic performance of an institution's sports teams.

For the collegiate sports fan and academic officials, there are new terms to learn and understand: Academic progress rate or APR, graduated success rate or GSR, contemporaneous penalties and cut rates.
